Portland Restaurant Equipment

Restaurant Equipment and Supply for Portland, the Oregon Coast and the Columbia Gorge

Portland built one of the country's best-known food scenes from the curb up. About 500 food carts work the city in roughly two dozen pods, from Midtown Beer Garden downtown to Cartopia on Hawthorne and The Heist on SE Woodstock, and plenty of the city's brick-and-mortar restaurants started as carts. Huber's has been serving downtown since 1879, RingSide has grilled steaks since 1944, and Travel Portland counts more than 80 breweries in the city.

Out from the core, Beaverton's Watson Avenue and Hillsboro's Main Street carry the westside's Korean, Burmese, Hawaiian, and Mexican kitchens, Gresham sits at the gateway to Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge, and the coast and Gorge towns run on seafood, orchard fruit, and taprooms.

Since 2015, The Restaurant Warehouse has shipped to thousands of commercial kitchens in every state. Portland-area orders ship from our Seattle warehouse, so Portland restaurants and food carts get the same low prices and freight delivery right to Portland, Gresham, Beaverton, Hillsboro, and Tigard. The most common orders here are reach-in refrigerators, undercounter refrigerators, sandwich prep tables, pizza prep tables, propane griddles, fryers, and food truck equipment.

Portland Food Cart Pods

Portland's oldest pod, on SW 5th Avenue between Stark and Oak, reopened in 2023 as Midtown Beer Garden, with room for 30 carts, a bar, and a stage. A few blocks away, Cart Blocks on Ankeny Square holds two dozen carts, and the eastside pods run from Cartopia and Hawthorne Asylum in Southeast to Prost Marketplace on N Mississippi and The Heist, which opened in a former bank on SE Woodstock in 2023. Out east, Gresham's Glisan Station pod is planned with 22 carts and an indoor bar.

A cart cookline is tight, so every piece has to earn its spot: propane griddles, charbroilers, and fryers, undercounter refrigeration and chef bases sized for a 12-foot cart, and freezers and reach-ins for the commissary. When a cart moves into a storefront, the same equipment moves with it.

Portland Restaurants, Cocktail Bars and Breweries

Some of Portland's best-known rooms have been at it for generations. Huber's, founded in 1879 as the Bureau Saloon, is famous for its tableside Spanish Coffee, and RingSide Steakhouse reopened in August 2025 after a kitchen fire, still serving prime rib in a building it has occupied since the early 1950s. Eem on N Williams pairs Thai barbecue with cocktails, Hale Pele on NE Broadway pours its tiki Volcano Bowl, Rum Club on SE Sandy marked 15 years in 2026, and Teardrop Lounge holds down the Pearl District. On the beer side, Breakside, Great Notion, Wayfinder, and Migration, which also runs a production taproom in Gresham, keep the city's taps full.

Bars and taprooms here run on back-bar coolers, draft beer coolers sized to the tap count, bottle coolers, glass merchandisers, and ice machines that keep up on a Saturday night. Steakhouse lines lean on heavy-duty charbroilers and deep reach-in refrigerators.

Pizza, Doughnuts and Farmers Markets

Portland is a serious pizza town. Ken's Artisan Pizza, founded by baker Ken Forkish, ranked No. 8 on the 2025 50 Top Pizza USA list, Apizza Scholls and Lovely's Fifty Fifty were also recognized that year, and Hapa Pizza in Beaverton made the list at No. 47. Voodoo Doughnut opened in Old Town Chinatown in 2003, and on Saturdays the Portland Farmers Market at Portland State University brings up to 100 vendors and as many as 9,000 shoppers to the South Park Blocks.

Pizzerias need refrigerated pizza prep tables sized for dough and topping par and reach-in refrigerators for cold-fermented dough, doughnut shops depend on fryers with fast temperature recovery, and market-driven menus need extra cold storage for bigger produce deliveries.

Beaverton, Hillsboro and Tigard

The westside has become its own dining destination. Beaverton's Watson Avenue is the city's restaurant row, with Korean spots like Nak Won and 1st Street Pocha, BG's Food Cartel near The Round was Beaverton's first pod, and the Beaverton Farmers Market bills itself as Oregon's largest all-agricultural market, drawing 15,000 to 20,000 visitors on summer Saturdays. Hillsboro, the center of the Silicon Forest, adds Top Burmese Ambassador and 808 Grinds downtown, breweries like Ambacht and Vertigo, and a Ranch Pizza location, and Tigard is home to Oregon's first Din Tai Fung at Washington Square.

Westside kitchens tend to run compact lines in strip-center and downtown storefronts: undercounter refrigerators, refrigerated prep tables, griddles, and ice machines are the usual orders.

Restaurant Supply Store in Portland

We ship straight to your Portland restaurant. Most Portland-area orders arrive in 1 to 2 business days on a lift gate truck from our Seattle warehouse. Will-call pickup in Seattle is available for verified restaurant businesses, but most kitchens skip the drive and let us ship it. Tell us what you are cooking and how much space you have, and we will help you size the line.

Serving Portland, the Coast and the Columbia Gorge

Portland is our hub for Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas County, plus the North Coast and the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. Restaurants across the region get the same equipment, free curbside lift gate freight, and warranty, and they talk to the same team.

Gresham and East County

Gresham was once known as the Raspberry Capital of the World, and today it is Oregon's fourth-largest city, minutes from Mount Hood and Multnomah Falls. Nicholas Restaurant brought its Lebanese menu back to downtown Gresham in 2022, and the Gresham Farmers' Market sets up at the Arts Plaza on Saturdays from May through October. Operators here order reach-in refrigerators, griddles, and food truck equipment for a growing cart scene.

Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard and Lake Oswego

We deliver across Washington County and into Clackamas County, including Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Tualatin, and Lake Oswego. Restaurant supply orders from the westside are mostly undercounter refrigeration, sandwich prep tables, pizza prep tables, and bar refrigeration for neighborhood restaurants and taprooms.

Astoria, Seaside and the North Coast

North Coast restaurants in Astoria, Seaside, and Cannon Beach run on seafood, fish and chips, and a busy summer season. They need ice machines, freezers, fryers, and reach-in refrigerators that hold up in salt air.

Hood River, The Dalles and the Columbia Gorge

Hood River's Fruit Loop farms grow pears, apples, and cherries, and breweries like pFriem Family Brewers and Double Mountain anchor a strong Gorge beer scene. Kitchens and taprooms from Hood River to The Dalles order draft beer coolers, back-bar coolers, and reach-in refrigerators for seasonal fruit.
