Ogden Utah Restaurant Equipment

Restaurant Equipment and Supply for Ogden, Layton, Logan and Northern Utah

Ogden grew up around Union Station after the transcontinental railroad was finished in 1869, and the hotels and restaurants on 25th Street fed the rail crowd. That street still anchors the food scene. Roosters Brewing Co. has poured beer there since 1995, Rovali's Ristorante moved its Italian kitchen to 25th in about 2008, and Union Grill, which started in Union Station in 1991, now cooks on 24th Street.

North in Cache Valley, Logan is dairy country. Gossner Foods has made cheese on the city's west side since 1966, and Utah State University has scooped Aggie Ice Cream since 1922. South of Ogden, Layton is the largest city in Davis County, with Hill Air Force Base just north of town, and Bountiful runs a Thursday farmers market in its town square.

Since 2015, The Restaurant Warehouse has shipped to thousands of commercial kitchens in every state. Northern Utah orders ship from our Denver warehouse, so Ogden-area restaurants get the same low prices and freight delivery right to Ogden, Roy, Layton, Bountiful, and Logan. Ogden's Historic 25th Street and Union Station

25th Street started out as 5th Street beside Union Station and took its new name in 1889. It once had restaurants, ice cream parlors and the nickname "Two-Bit Street," and the lower district joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Roosters opened on 25th in 1995 and added a production brewery and taproom on B Avenue in 2018. The Utah Restaurant Association named the Roosters owners its Restaurateur of the Year in 2023. Rovali's, opened in 2004 by Alex and Kim Montanez, was still family-run at its 20th anniversary in November 2024, and its best seller was the "Tour of Rovali's": lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo and ricotta ravioli. Every Saturday from late May through mid-September, Farmers Market Ogden fills three blocks of 25th Street, with more than 200 vendors in 2026.

Brewpubs and bars on 25th run on bar refrigeration, draft beer coolers, back bar coolers and ice machines. Italian kitchens need ranges and ovens, pizza prep tables and reach-in refrigerators, and market vendors build on food truck equipment.

Cache Valley Cheese, Gossner Foods and Aggie Ice Cream

Swiss-born cheesemaker Edwin Gossner came to Cache Valley in 1941, ran a co-op Swiss cheese plant for 24 years and incorporated Gossner Foods in Logan in 1966. It added shelf-stable milk in 1982 and is now run by his great-granddaughter. According to Utah's state tourism office, Gossner made Utah's first Swiss cheese in January 1942 and buys milk from about 130 family dairies in Northern Utah and Southern Idaho. Utah State University, founded in 1888 as the Agricultural College of Utah, opened its Aggie Ice Cream storefront in 1922. USU says it makes about 52,000 gallons of ice cream and 5,000 pounds of cheese a year, and Aggie Blue Mint has been on the menu since 2004. Cache County also hosts an annual Cache Valley Cheese & Dairy Festival at the fairgrounds in Logan, with dairy tours, a cheesecake contest and food trucks.

Creameries, scoop shops and cheese counters need freezers, countertop display cases, glass door merchandisers and reach-in refrigerators. Cafes cooking with local dairy add sandwich prep tables and work tables.

Layton, Bountiful and Davis County Kitchens

Layton passed Bountiful as the largest city in Davis County in 1985 and had 81,773 residents in 2020. It is named for settler Christopher Layton, and Hill Air Force Base was built just north of the city in 1940. Layton also has a one-mile retail strip known as Restaurant Row, Roosters runs Roosters Layton and The Coop in the city, and Rovali's spent its first four years in Layton before moving to Ogden. Bountiful dates to September 1847, when Perrigrine Sessions' family arrived and founded what the city calls "Utah's second settlement." Its farmers market runs Thursdays, late June to mid-October, at Bountiful Town Square.

Busy family restaurants and quick-service lines near the base lean on griddles, charbroilers, fryers and chef bases, with undercounter refrigerators and sandwich prep tables on the line.
