The steam table is a table with openings to hold containers of cooked food over steam or hot water, to keep the food warm. Also called a hot-food table, they are the perfect solution keeping food moist in busy cafeterias or serving lines at wedding, catered parties, or corporate events at hotels.

Steam is older than electricity and gas as a heat source. It's simple and quick. Steam tables produce water vapor, this happens when molecules of water are suspended in the air by the heat added to them. Steam tables are often called a hot-food table, they are often used in cafeterias or serving lines, holding food above a reservoir of hot water to keep it warm. Steam Tables holds foods warm between cooking and serving. The holding of foods with a steam table protects the smaller batches of food from harmful bacteria growth you serve the food. Atosa steam tables come with multiple compartments of hot air. Filling each compartment with standard size hotel pans. Each individual hotel pan are controlled with a individual thermostat so that several different foods can be held in the same table for the serving line. Moist foods work best for steam tables. Placing the hotel pan in a shallow tank of water that is heated with gas or electricity to a range of 180 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Pans of the moist foods are placed in the water, which keeps them hot as needed. An advantage of steam tables is that they can be heated with or without water.
